Goshen firefighters were called to the rest area on Route 9 just east of South Main Street for a reported car fire at 1431 hours.
Upon arrival of Car 1, smoke could be seen coming from the engine compartment of the parked car. The driver of the vehicle reported flames coming from under the hood as they drove up the hill into town and exited the state highway.
Engine 2 deployed a hose line, opened the hood and doused the engine with foam to ensure there was no re-ignition.
