GOSHEN, MA – Roof repairs will be made to Town Hall and Goshen Center School, because voters approved spending for the projects last night at a special town meeting.

Phyllis Mollison, secretary to the Board of Selectmen, said upwards of 25 voters approved spending of $2,700 for the school roof, $7,500 for some roof repairs to Town Hall, and $9,050 to repair the Town Hall pillars.

The town had budgeted more money than was needed for the Chesterfield-Goshen Regional School District this year, and residents voted to reduce Goshen’s share of the budget by $7,789. Residents also voted to transfer $4,985 from the school budget to the town reserve fund.

Mollison said residents voted to name the Fire Station after John MacRae, a deceased member of the Fire Department. Voters also approved new fines for dog owners, and the town will now charge $25 for the first offense involving a wandering dog, $50 for the second offense, and $55 for the third.
