GOSHEN, MA – Harold T. Mollison, 80, of Wing Hill Road, a longtime town official and civic leader, died Friday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.

He served on the Board of Selectman for 12 years, and also chaired it.

He sat on the Board of Health for 29 years, served as chairman, and was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the state Department of Public Health in 1987. He also served on the town’s Conservation Commission, and was an ambulance driver for the Fire Department.

He managed the town’s 200-acre Tilton Farm for 29 years, and was a machinist in the aircraft industry during World War II.

Born and schooled in this town, he attended the Goshen Church.

He was a 4-H Club leader, a Little League baseball manager and coach, a member of the Goshen Historical Society, and a Hampshire County commissioner for several years.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, the former Phyllis Thompson; a son, Stephen of Goshen; two daughters, Kathleen Korza of the Leeds section of Northampton and Barbara Miller of Hawaii; two brothers, Charles of Goshen and George of Manchester-by-the-Sea; three sisters, Esther Korowski, Ruth Dresser and Louise Bacon, all of Goshen; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday morning at the church, with a private burial. Calling hours at Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton are late Sunday afternoon through the early evening.
