Surprise Snowfall Leads to Slippery Roads

GOSHEN, MA – With our sights set on the Christmas Eve forecast that’s calling for rain and temperatures in the 50’s, I think most Goshenites were caught by off guard by this morning’s snowfall.

At 1118 hours today, Goshen Firefighters, Goshen Police and Highland Ambulance personnel were called to the intersection of South Main and West Street for a car into a utility pole. The accident occurred when a vehicle heading eastbound on West Street slid through the stop sign at the intersection with South Main Street and came into contact with the utility pole on the opposite side of the roadway.

We are happy to report that no one was hurt as a result of the accident and minimal damage was done to the car and utility pole.

As one Goshen firefighter put it, we’re ‘three for three, we should be good for a while’.  Many firefighters firmly believe that the number of calls we go on increases during every full moon. For Goshen firefighters, we believe that our calls come in threes. Between Friday’s hiker rescue, Saturday’s landing zone set up and today’s minor car accident, our hope for all of us is that our beliefs come true.
