Wildfire Extinguished by Multiple Towns

CHESTERFIELD, MA – At 18:38 hours, Goshen and Williamsburg firefighters were called mutual aid to the town of Chesterfield to assist with a brush fire at the intersection of Rt. 143 and Curtis Road.

Eight Goshen volunteers responded with Car 1 and Brush 1.

Upon arrival, units discovered a 0.5 acre fire spreading in a pine grove.  Firefighters helped to establish a water supply at a nearby interior pond, stretched hose lines, grasped tools  and quickly extinguished the growing fire.

Afterwards units searched and watered down hot spots to prevent reignition.

Personnel remained on scene for approximately 1.5 hours prior to release around 20:00 hours.
