Blaze Damages Goshen House

GOSHEN, MA – A house on Pond Hill Road was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters from three towns arrived at the scene yesterday.

Goshen Fire Chief Francis Dresser said eight vehicles from his department, Williamsburg and Chesterfield responded to the 3:13 p.m. call, saving part of a house at 81 Pond Hill Road.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported, Dresser said.

He said the fire began in the rear of the house, which is why it took a while for neighbors to see what was happening and call for help.

Dresser would not divulge the names of the residents, citing the fact that the investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing.
