Funeral for Boston Fire Lt. Edward Walsh

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Members of the Goshen Fire Department were among the estimated 10,000 firefighters that attended the funeral services yesterday for Boston firefighter Edward Walsh. Lt. Walsh and his partner Michael Kennedy were killed last week while fighting a 9-alarm fire on Beacon Street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

Moments before the casket of Lt. Edward Walsh was loaded into the hose bed of Engine 33, his sister Kathy Malone eulogized her little brother and shared the following thoughts with us: “Let’s model ourselves after Eddie. Take care of people; those very close to us and those who are strangers. Make time for one another and enjoy the company of family and friends. Love, and as difficult as it may be, carry on.”
