Ice Water Rescue Training

GOSHEN, MA – After putting out a car fire earlier in the day, Goshen firefighters were joined by their counterparts from Chesterfield and Williamsburg at the D.A.R. State Forest on Tuesday night to cool off in the frozen waters of Upper Highland lake.

This months tri-town drill concentrated on rapid deployment after we arrive on scene.

Even though the ice on the lake measured 9″ in depth, our standard protocol is to wear personal flotation devices whenever we’re out on it.
