Search for Missing Girl Results in Happy Ending

CHESTERFIELD, MA – Goshen Fire department personnel were called mutual aid to Fuller Road in Chesterfield at 1755 hours to assist MA State Police and Chesterfield Fire personnel in the search for a missing 13 year old girl.

Chesterfield and Goshen Emergency Management Director Larry Holmberg sent out a reverse 911 call to local residents asking for any information on her whereabouts. The girl was last seen on Fuller Road near the Chesterfield / Goshen town line wearing lightweight clothing. Nightfall, a brisk wind, scattered flurries and temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark added urgency to the incident.

Nearly 30 firefighters were paired up in teams of two and assigned a street in a 1-mail radius of Fuller Road to canvas. Instructions were given to knock on every door, check every shed, look in cars and trailers, and ask people if they had noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Clues gathered by team members were relayed to State Police command which were pieced together and ultimately led to her being found.

The word HOPE has been illuminated on the front of our station since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Tonight, the word embodied the feelings of both our communities.
