2 CALLS AT ONCE – MUTUAL AID AND ALARM INVESTIGATION
– WESTHAMPTON MUTUAL AID
Goshen firefighters were called at 4:50 pm on Saturday to Westhampton to aid with the structure fire shared below.
“On Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m. Westhampton Fire crews and Westhampton PD responded to a structure fire caused by a lightening strike on Northwest Rd.
Upon arrival heavy smoke and fire were showing from the rear of the structure. Engine 1 started the initial attack and a water supply was established. An additional line was pulled and started on the fire as mutual aid crews arrived.
Water supply was challenging due to the location of the residence. Multiple tankers and engines from surrounding communities assisted. The fire was fully extinguished and overhaul completed by 8:30 p.m”
Four firefighters were sent in Engine 2. Our crews worked interior attack and hand lines.
Goshen was back in service that evening.
– ALARM INVESTIGATION
While GFD was in Westhampton a call was received from a Goshen resident for smoke alarms sounding in a basement.
Engine 7 was dispatched with a couple of firefighters. Alarms were tripped due to high humidity in the basement.
